Oolong Tea Sampler
The Oolong Sampler contains three of our favorite oolongs and highlights the unique flavors that different processing techniques can create. All three oolongs are from similar altitudes in Nantou County, Taiwan, and harvested in the spring, but are processed in three distinct ways to produce incredibly unique flavor profiles!
1oz of our Light Roast Oolong from Hehuan Mountain grown at ~5,000ft of elevation. Crafted from the QinXin, or “Green Heart” tea varietal, known for its floral, vegetal, and sweet flavors. When these delicate leaves are then lightly roasted over time with periods of rest in between, deeper caramel-like notes come out. Tasting notes of toast, chrysanthemum, and caramel. 1oz of our Medium Roast Dong Ding from the famous QinXin varietal on Dong Ding Mountain at a similar elevation of our Light Roast, but with a darker oxidation and heavier roast that accents its deep, rich, baked sweetness. Tasting notes of toffee, toasted brown rice, and pecans. 1oz of our Brandy Oolong from Zhú Mountain at over 5,000ft of elevation. Tightly rolled, with an even darker oxidation to the point of almost being considered a black tea. One of our most popular oolongs, with tasting notes of baked honey, cinnamon, and malt.
Taste all three side by side to explore how different a simple tea leaf can taste depending on how it's processed after it's plucked!
