Golden Monkey enjoys a wonderful reputation of being one of the most delicious and beautiful black teas. This is in part because it comes from a varietal most often reserved for silver needle white tea: Da Bai. Handpicked Golden Monkey contains only the bud (which turn gold from oxidation) and first leaf (dark brown) resulting in an elegant, flavorful, smooth black tea with little or no astringency. Notes of peaches, honey, sweet potato, and dark chocolate. This Fujian black tea will win you over with its sweet drinkability that lasts for many infusions.
Tasting Notes: honey, sweet potato, dried peaches, dark chocolate.
Brewing Guidelines: Gaiwan/Yixing: fill 1/3 full with dry leaf. Steep 25-30 seconds with 195° water for first three infusions. Add 10 sec to each additional infusion.
